Here you will find common questions about ordering our software.

When will I receive my product?

If you paid by credit or debit card or sent a Purchase Order, you will receive the registration key within 48 hours of your order confirmation. If you paid by check or wire, you will receive the registration key as soon as we receive your check clearance or the funds are credited to our bank account.

I didn't receive the key, how can I get it?

Most probably your mail server filtered our message with the registration key. Please check your junk mail box. If this doesn't help, please contact us. Don't forget to specify order reference number (it was shown on the confirmation page) and provide us with an alternative email address.

How my purchase will appear on the credit card statement?

Your credit card will be charged by "share-it!"

When can I use per-user licensing model?

Per-user licensing model is a universal licensing model. There are no limitations on the kind of use, number of servers to connect to, etc.

Is per-user licensing model named or floating?

Per-user licensing model is named. Although you may move the software from one computer to another, one license cannot be shared between several users. E.g. if you are purchasing a 2-user license, you must designate two individuals in your company (named users) that have rights to use the software.

When can I use per-server licensing model?

Per-server licensing model is intended for in-house use only. This means that you can use Event Log Explorer only to manage event logs generated by servers or workstations of your company.

We have 3 technicians and 25 servers. What license should I get?

You should get either a 3-user license or a 25-server license. Per-user license may be preferable if you are planning to add extra servers in future.

We have 25 Windows servers in our company, but I never connect more than 10 servers at the time. What license should I get in this case?

You must purchase a 25-server license. Alternatively you can use per-user licensing depending on the number of technicians.

We have 25 Windows servers in our company, but actually I will use Event Log Explorer only with certain 10 servers. What license should we get?

You may get a 10-server license. Alternatively you can get a per-user license depending on the number of technicians.

We have 5 technicians who use Event Log Explorer. How many per-server licenses should we order?

If all these technicians are from the same department/site you may purchase only one license. However if they are from different departments/sites, you must purchase a separate license for each department/site. Alternatively you may purchase a 5-user license.

We are a security consulting company and analyzing event logs for our customers. What licensing model should we choose?

You should choose per-user licensing model.

We are a forensics company. Should we use per-user licensing mode?

Yes. Per-user licensing model is suitable for forensic use.

I'm a freelance consultant. Can I use a free version of Event Log Explorer to view logs of my clients from my home computer?

No, you cannot. You should get a one-user license.

I'm a software developer. For testing purposes I must read event logs from dozens of servers. What kind of licensing should I get?

You should use per-user licensing.

Can I use a free version of Event Log Explorer to view logs in my home network?

Yes, you can.

What will happen when my free license expires?

At the time, free license never expires. But you may need to re-request free license when we are releasing new versions of Event Log Explorer.

What will happen when my paid license expires?

Event Log Explorer paid license never expires, but if you purchased the program more then one year ago, you are no longer entitled to free upgrades. If you want to get upgrades again, you should purchase the upgrade license at a discounted price.

Do you offer special pricing for academic institutions, non-profit, or government organizations?

Yes, we do. Please contact us to get a special pricing.

Can I get your software on a CD-ROM?

Yes, you can - enable "Backup CD" option on the purchase page.
